- Description
- A/E Design Services ? SOURCES SOUGHT: Project No. 679-04-105, ROOM/ELECT. WIRING, BLDG. 1, VA Medical Center, 3701 Loop Road East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404. The A/E is to provide design contract for Project 679-04-105, ROOM/ELECTRICAL WIRING, BLDG. 1. A/E to furnish design documents for the removal and rewiring of room throughout Building 1. A/E to field survey all branch circuits and develop plans and specifications for the removal and replacement of electrical wiring from branch panels, located in electrical closets on each floor to each room. Each room will be evaluated for power needs and wiring provided to meet required demands as well as removal of old equipment (PBPUs, etc.). Work will involve some room finishes, i.e. painting, wallpaper, etc. modification. A/E firms must be within a 250-mile radius of the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center. NOTE: Department of Veterans Affairs "as-builts" are not up to date and must be field verified. A/E will take minutes of all design review meetings and provide the Department of Veterans Affairs with a copy in 3 working days of meeting. Department of Veterans Affairs assumes no responsibility for the correctness of this data. It is the responsibility of the designer to check. Discipline involved is primarily Electrical but may include Structural, Mechanical and Fire Protection disciplines. All professional services shall be a part of the design team announced in the 254s and 255s. Specific A/E evaluation factors, not in priority order shall be: 1) Specialized experience and technical competence (0-40); 2) Specific experience and qualifications of personnel proposes (0-20); 3) Professional capacity of the firm in the designated geographic area (0-20); 4) Past record of performance on contracts with government agencies (-10 - +10); 5) Geographic location and facilities of the working office (0-20), and 6) Point adjustment for existing design work (-2 to ?5) and existing construction period services (0 to ?2). A/E firms are required to respond in writing if interested and shall submit a completed SF 254 (A/E and Related Services Questionnaire) and SF 255 (A/E Related Services for Specific Projects) to the following: Chief, Network Logistics Office (509/10N7/NLO), Attn: Sylvia D. Henry, Contracting Officer, VA Medical Center, One Freedom Way, Augusta, Georgia 30904-6285 no later than November 24, 2003. ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST RANGE: $250,000 TO $500,000. This SOURCES SOUGHT is restricted as to business size. It is 100% set-aside for emerging small business concerns. Applicable NAICS is 541310 with a small business size of $4 million.
