- NA The 13th Annual TACOM - Industry Logistics Symposium, Logistics Strategies - Transforming to the Future Force; ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: This event is sponsored by the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) with administrative support provided by t he Michigan Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). SCOPE AND OBJECTIVE: The 13th Annual TACOM/Industry Logistics Symposium will be held April 6-8, 2004, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dearborn, MI. The theme for the symposium is Log istics Strategies - Transforming to the Future Force. This Logistics Symposium brings together government and industry personnel to discuss issues and concerns relevant to the constant changes in the logistics environment. This forum affords the opportun ity for networking and enhancing lines of communication in a non-adversarial atmosphere. AGENDA: The Department of the Army is in the midst of an unprecedented transformation. This transformation impacts every area of the Army including soldiers, equipmen t, training and warfare. It is a process that will transform the current armed forces to the future force. The transformation represents the future full spectrum force-organized, manned, equipped and trained to increase strategic responsiveness across th e entire spectrum of military operations from major theater wars to homeland security. Representatives from the government and industry will brief on the logistical and technical support required to meet the Department of Defense vision and goals. The sy mposium will offer formal presentations, workshops, exhibits, demonstrations and open discussion. The symposium speaker's topics will include: Logistics Transformation, Lean Logistics, Recapitalization and Army Transformation, the impact of Logistics Supp ort to Homeland Defense, the role of U.S. Joint Forces in Combat, Technology Development, the Future Combat Systems, Logistics Support to Operation Iraqi Freedom, Modeling and Simulation, Government and Industry Partnerships, Simulation Based Acquisition, Robotics, and Water Technologies. There will be speakers from government and industry briefing on many exciting programs and initiatives achieving the Department of Defense (DoD) and Army Transformation. THE SYMPOSIUM WILL: Review and demonstrate emerging technology; Showcase world-class products and services; Identify needs for new management tools, research and products; Review management and technical solutions now in design and development. WHO SHOULD ATTEND: The Government and Industry community; Logisticians, Inventory Specialists and Enginee rs; Maintenance and Supply Managers; Commercial product support providers; Liaison officers; Researchers and Product Development Representatives; Production, Process and Information System Specialists; Everyone interested in successful DOD logistics opera tions. REGISTERATION: The registration fee is $325.00. Payment will be made upon registration. The fee includes: Continental Breakfasts, Reception, Buffet Lunch, Beverages, Refreshments, morning and afternoon briefings, Exhibits, and the NDIA-Michigan Ch apter Hospitality Suite. A receipt will be provided upon request. The late fee for registration after March 22, 2004, will be $350.00. Registrations will be accepted beginning January 2004. To ensure the discounted rate, please make reservations early and ask for the symposium reserved room block which will be held for the TACOM/Industry Logistics Symposium u ntil March 5, 2004. Government employees planning to stay at the Northfield Hilton who are unable to reserve a room at the government rate can have their travel orders amended to reflect the actual expense IAW accepted travel guidelines. EXHIBIT OPPORTUNITIES: TACOM and NDIA-Michigan Chapter invite you to exhibit at the 13th annual TACOM/Industry Logistics Symposium. This symposium continues to be a world class event because of the commitment from government and industry representatives. If your organization or company is involved in some aspect of logistics, you should take this opportunity to exhibit your products and services. As we did last year, we expect to sell out all exhibition booths and tabletop spaces. Each 8' x 10' booth will include back and side drapes, a table and two chairs. The fee is $990.00 for the entire symposium. This fee will include the availability, on a first come, first served basis, of a business meeting room for exhibitors. Six-foot table tops will be available for $320.00 and poster displays for $100.00 for the duration of the symposium. Outdoor exhibits are available at $990.00 for each vehicle or entity displayed. All exhibition space is allocated on a first come, first basis. Electricity, telephones and drayage must be arranged through the Hyatt Regency hotel. Charges will be payab le directly to the hotel. Details will be available in an update to this brochure and on the NDIA website. EXHIBITOR REPRESENTATIVE FEES: NDIA-Michigan Chapter is offering exhibitor representatives a choice of two discounted registration fees. The fee of $230.00 will cover meals, snacks and the rec eption. The further discounted fee of $190.00 will cover meals, snacks and the reception but no symposium sessions. Each booth or outdoor space exhibitor can register up to two persons at $230.00 each and up to two additional persons at $190.00 each. Ea ch tabletop exhibitor can register one person for $230.00 and one additional person for $190.00. All other exhibitor representatives are subject to the registration fee of $325.00.
