Description
NA The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a contract to perform installation of Vertical Barrier Screens at the Bonneville Second Powerhouse in Skamania County, Washington. This is a construction contract that requires modificat ion to the three gate-well slots at Turbine Unit 17 that guide installation of Vertical Barrier Screens for screening turbine intake water. This will include concrete demolition and new placement along with fabrication of stainless steel guides. In additi on to gate-well modifications, four new Vertical Barrier Screens shall be provided. One screen shall be provided for each gate-well, and one spare. Each Vertical Barrier Screen shall be made up of structural steel, stainless fish screen, and various mech anical components. Gate-well modifications are subject to the biological in-water work period that stretches from 01 December 2003 to 01 April 2004 and must be completed in that time frame. Vertical Barrier Screens must be fabricated, installed, and operat ional no later than 10 April 2004. This procurement is open to both small and large business concerns. All interested responsible firms are invited to request a copy of the subject Invitation for Bids (IFB), in CD Rom format, at no charge, by registering on our website at https://www.nwp.u sace.army.mil. The IFB is anticipated to be issued on or about 10 November 2003 with a tentative bid opening date of 9 December 2003. In addition, in order to do business with the Department of Defense contractors must enroll on the Central Contracting Register (CCR) www.ccr.gov.
