- Combined Synopsis/Solicitation: Description 1) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; PROPOSALS ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. 2) Solicitation FA5000-04-T-0003 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). 3) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-13. 4) This solicitation is set aside 100% for Small Business. The NAICS code is 212321, Size Standard: 500 Employees. 5) Item Description: Brand Name Requirement IAW FAR 6.302-1(c) for replacement broom cassette style bristles for Svenska Industrial Boarstar (SIB) cores. Line Item 0001: Quantity of 10 Each, Svenska cassette bristles, Part Number 1646WBEL SP with 45MM wire tuffs. Wire tuffs shall be inserted into plastic cups and fastened to the bristle section. Each section will be constructed from plastic with a metal cap inserted for strengthening the section with a 1/8? steel rod securing the wire tuffs for the length of each section. The wire tuffs will be 11? in length with no more than a ?? variance in length and each tuff shall be no more than 1-5/8? apart. Each 4 tuffs will be inter-connected with a polyweb. There will be a total of 108 sections per set, consisting of: i.) 72 each, 20 tuff section, 32 9/16? in length and ii.) 36 each, 18 tuff section, 29 ?? in length. Cassette brushes shall be packaged in containers that can be stacked upon each other for storage over a long period of time (i.e. wood crates). Line Item 0002: Quantity of 4 Each, Cassette style bristles that fit the new Svenska core mounted in the 4600 MB Broom head. Part Number XL-108-36/4-45, and consists of 144 pieces. The cassettes are made of a molded plastic with steel ring supports in each bristle tuff to eliminate any distortion of the cassette. Each tuff of wire is inserted in a molded polymer cup with support rings to allow flexibility while adding strength to each tuff. The zinc coated wire tuffs are held in place with a steel rod, which runs the full length of the cassette. 6) See Item 5. 7) See Item 5. 8) FAR 52.212-1 ? Instructions to Offerors ?
