- Description
- The Department Of Defense (DOD), United States Air Force, 55th Contracting Squadron in support of United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) intends to award a commercial based purchase order on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR Subpart 6.302-1 (a) (2) (ii), for the annual renewal of Microsoft Premier Support for the period of: 1 Oct 2003 through 30 Sep 2004. Microsoft Premier Support is to be provided to USSTRATCOM, Offutt AFB, NE. Market research has revealed only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for Other than Full and Open Competition has been prepared and approved in support of this acquisition. Microsoft Corporation, 8050 Microsoft Way, Charlotte, NC 28273 (980) 776-6601, is considered to be sole source for the above-mentioned services and service products; therefore no solicitation will result from this announcement. A determination not to compete is based on Microsoft Corporation?s proprietary rights on encryption algorithms, source code, data formats, design documents and installed software which is restricted in accordance with FAR 52.227-19 Commercial Computer Software Restricted Rights (Jun 1987). However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement on responses to this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
