NA This Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought (SS) Notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center (NBACC). NBACC is located in Frederick, Maryland. Its mission is to support national security, law enforcement, and medical communities by improving our understanding of the use of biological weapons (BW) against U.S. targets, biological agent pathogenesis, and dissemination principles for the purpose of improving our protection of human health and agriculture against BW and sustaining homeland security through knowledge of the threat, prevention of surprise, and attribution of use. NBACC is conducting a market survey to identify current and currently planned within the next year, Animal Biosafety Level 3 (ABL-3) laboratories and test facilities capabilities along with the accompanying personnel capabilities to support research and te sting with aerosols of etiologic agents. These capabilities must be Good Laboratory Practice-compliant and are needed for aerosol challenges of nonclinical models and aerosol characterization. Facilities must be capable of accommodating at least 16 nonhu man primates (NHP) per single study and the number of such studies that can be conducted simultaneously with different etiologic agents is sought. Also please indicate the largest single NHP study that could be performed at your facility. This is not a R equest for Proposal (RFP). No RFP is available and NBACC does not intend to award a contract on the basis of responses nor otherwise pay for the preparation of any information submitted or NBACC??????s use of such information. Responses should be identified with ABL-3 RFI/SS, and are due no later than 4:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time on November 21, 2003. All proprietary information should be marked as such.
