Description
The Naval Network Warfare Command and the NAVSEA Smartship Program Office are hosting a Navy Wireless Networks Summit to be held at Johns Hopkins University / Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD on December 8-10, 2003. This summit is for Navy and other military and government representatives to build a Navy wireless community of interest, give government representatives the opportunity to discuss wireless policies, technology and projects, and begin to develop a road map for the implementation of wireless technology in the Navy. As part of this process, an Industry Day will be held on Tuesday, December 9th from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM. The purpose of the Industry Day is to provide a forum for vendors with wireless products to demonstrate or discuss their products with key Navy decision makers involved with wireless technology. There will also be presentations by government representatives on DoD and Navy vision and needs related to wireless technology. Vendors who meet the following criteria are invited to participate in the industry day events: o Have wireless products that meet stringent DoD and Navy requirements such as those for security, environmental ruggedness and electromagnetic compatibility. o Be familiar with Navy needs and have a vision for how your technology would be of use to the Navy. o Have fielded products, preferably in Navy or DoD environments. Space is limited and expenses for participating are the responsibility of the vendor. Vendors interested in participating should submit a request with the following information: o Description of your products and how they meet the criteria described. o State whether you are requesting floor space for an exhibit and, if so what resources you need (electrical outlets, amount of s pace [maximum of 10' by 10' space], # tables (6'), table covers, internet lines, telephone lines, telephones, etc.) o State whether you think you need an opportunity to provide proprietary information to an audience of government representatives (no other vendors/competitors). If so, state your requirements for briefing (computer, projection device, etc.). Presentations / demos are constrained to a half hour maximum, including Q&A session. Presentations should be geared towards addressing the criteria described above and copies must be provided in advance. Potential industry day participants meeting the criteria will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until space is filled. Materials described above can be provided. All other materials are the responsibility of the vendor. Requests to participate can be emailed to flitterla@nswccd.navy.mil or faxed to 301-227 -5753, ATTN: Lance Flitter. If you have questions you can email or call Lance Flitter at 301-227-3161. An alternate POC is Wanda Hosea, wanda.hosea@netwarcom.navy.mil, 757-417-6799. Requests should be submitted no later than COB, November 14, 2003.
