Description

NA MARKET SURVEY AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: The Army Field Support Command (AFSC) has a requirement for Ctg 5.56mm Ball M855 Clipped with Fiberboard Box for Training, DODIC AA33, NSN: 1305-01-457-2589, P/N: 12982987. While the 5.56mm family of cartridg es is intended as anti-personnel ammunition, the M855 Ball round consists of a steel conical penetrator and a lead core, in a copper alloy jacket, to provide increased penetration against light armor (i.e. body armor, helmets) when compared to other simila r rounds of ammunition. The requirement will be in the range of 70-120 million rounds with deliveries to commence four to six months after contract award and be fully delivered within 18 months of contract award. The USG has no intention of waiving any t echnical data package requirements. The Army Field Support Command is seeking sources capable of meeting subject requirements. Interested sources should submit a concept papers outlining their capabilities to meet our requirements should they materialize. Interested sources shall provide their concept papers to HQ, AFSC, ATTN: AMSFS-CCA-F (Ms. Susan McKinnis), Rock Island, IL 61299-6000 by COB 11 Nov 03.
