- Description
- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 4 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR X-Ray Mirror Metrology Station. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to answer additional questions from industry. The questions and the answers to those questions are as follows: Questions: The paragraph on "Radius" in Section 2.1 says that "the combination of coarse and fine (radial) motions must allow accurate (to <= 10 nm rms)sensing of either relative ... or absolute radius to this level." Table 1, though, lists 0.01 mm (10 microns) as the "positioning accuracy" for coarse radial motion and 0.01 micron (10 nm) as the "positioning accuracy" for fine radial motion. Section 2.1 and Table 1 seem to conflict. Could you confirm that the intent is to measure axial profiles with an accuracy of 10 nm rms, while measuring the absolute radius of the test piece to an accuracy of 10 microns rms? Can you confirm that there is no requirement to build a support mechanism for the test piece, and that the vendor simply needs to allow room for a Government-supplied test piece holder? Answer: The answer to both questions is yes. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on 11/12/03. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet and are in Microsoft Office 97 format and reside on the World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
