- Description
- This is a notice RE: pending Standing Quote for the period date of award through November 30, 2004. Item for bid will be as follows: NSN: 7290-00-104-4725 CART, CARRY-OUT: Shall have the following characteristics: Carry-out cart; Hand push type, heavy welded wire construction on tubular steel frame, chrome or zinc plated, with front bumper. Shall have two rear 10-inch diameter wheels with semi-pneumatic tires, mounted on a 0.625 inch minimum axle, grease sealed ball or roller bearings. The front of the cart shall have a skid(s) or 5-inch (minimum) diameter wheels. Shall have a center tray which lifts to convert cart to stock or lift truck. Shall have the following dimensions: Height (overall, rear of cart frame) - 40 inches minimum. Width (overall, rear of cart frame) ? 21-1/2 inches minimum. Depth (overall, front of bumper to rear of back wheel) ? 28-1/2 inches minimum. WORKMANSHIP. The finished handcart shall function for the purpose intended. No defects affecting serviceability, appearance, health, or safety shall be permitted. Some weld splash near welding points may be acceptable, in keeping with commercial practice, provided the amounts of weld splash do not affect overall appearance, are not readily noticeable, and are located in areas that do not usually come in contact with the user's hands. Incomplete welds or welds with cracks or porosity shall not be allowed. When splash guard plates are provided in front of rear wheels, any sharp edges and corners shall be located, in keeping with commercial practice, in areas that are basically and normally inaccessible to the user and therefore do not present a safety hazard. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE. The handcart(s) provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this item purchase description, conform to the producer's own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. PACKAGING/PACKING: Each cart shall be packed in a close-fitting corrugated fiberboard box, minimum bursting strength 200 psi, or minimum edge crush strength 32 lb per inch width. Boxes shall conform to the applicable mode of transportation. In the event a pallet or skid is used for shipping, the following notice shall apply: NOTICE: All lumber used inside or outside a shipment shall be BARK FREE. MARKING: Shipments to GSA and other civilian agencies shall be marked in accordance with FED-STD-123. Shipments to the Department of Defense (DOD) shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. NOTICE OF SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR SHIPMENT TO EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES: Per Clause D-FSS-468, non-manufactured wood pallets and other non-manufactured wood package material used in shipments destined for ultimate delivery to or through a European Union (EU) country shall comply with the Emergency Measures (2001/219/EC) adopted by the Commission of the European Communities (CEC). Additionally, shipments delivered to DoD distribution facilities or freight consolidation points for eventual delivery to or through EU countries shall comply with DLA PROCLTR 02-17.
