Description
The US Army TACOM ARDEC is conducting a Market Survey to identify potential sources to develop a set of pre- and post-processing tools that integrate with the Fluent, Inc. computational fluid dynamics software to make it easier to analyze gun muzzle blast and recoil for gun systems. The intent is that the functionality be accomplished through user-defined functions in the Fluent application. The tools to be developed include: 1. Solution Initialization Tools: These tools would be used to ease in an initial patch of a velocity profile, temperature profile, and pressure profile over several iterations in order to eliminate unphysical conditions during solution startup; 2. Solution Analysis Tools: Be able to determine unsteady error indicating scalars and vectors for individuals cells in order to determine proper solver settings. 3. Blast Analysis Tools: Be able to determine unsteady scalar and vector quantities for individual cells that are applicable to blast analysis. 4. Recoil Analysis Tools: Be able to calculate overall recoil and impulse loads for systems and calculate muzzle brake efficiencies from results, supplied initial conditions, and interior ballistic solutions. Any interested parties for this effort must submit clear and concise information that will show a superior understanding of the methods to develop the specific tools. Firms with experience in the areas cited above should provide a summary of their company's capabilities including a contact person?s name, company address, telephone number, e-mail address, CAGE code and DUNS number. A description of facilities, manufacturing processes, personnel, size of business (please verify as either Large, Foreign, Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Woman-Owned Small Business, Historically Underutilized Business Zone concern, Veteran-Owned Small Business, or Service-Disabled Small Business), and past experience to meet this requirement . Any other specific and pertinent information as it pertains to this particular procurement that would enhance our consideration and evaluation of the information should be submitted. This information must be in writing and is to be provided via email to bscherr@pica.army.mil or mailed to Beth Scherr, Contract Specialist, US Army TACOM ARDEC, AMSTA-AQ-APE, B.10, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. and received by 17 November 2003. This market survey is for information purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Please identify any proprietary information submitted.
