- Description
- Enumerate coral and associated fish and invertebrates on strip transects along the seafloor for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Strip transects were collected by NMFS via manned submersibles in the central Aleutian Islands in 2002 and 2003. Animal counts will be made from time-coded video footage using software provided by NMFS. Records of substrate type along fixed intervals will also be made from the video footage. Contractor will prepare video footage for analysis by transferring video cassettes to single Hi-8 format. Contractor will also measure distance of each transect and record time codes at 1-meter increments. Contractor will also 1) record changes in sediment composition along the transect, 2) enumerate invertebrates and fish along transects, and 3) create Excel spreadsheets for each transect. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000. ****The Western Administrative Support Center, Acquisition Management Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this acquisition office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) before October 1, 2003.
