- Description
- This modification is issued to provide all interested parties the following information: The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about December 1, 2003 with an anticipated response date on or about December 31, 2003. This requirement was originally advertised as a Small Business Set Aside but is now being is being modified to an Unrestricted Requirement in order to promote full and open competition, which is in the ?Best Interest? of the government. This modification also provides additional information relative to the tasks involved and provides a revised expected release date for the solicitation. Velez, Contracting Officer at verna.velez@fmcsa.dot.gov or (202) 385-2305 Replace the current description to read as follows: The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) intends to competitively solicit on an unrestricted basis services for the following support. The awarded contract is expected to be a Fixed Price Labor Hour contract. The proposed contract will include a base period from date of award through September 30, 2003 (including a Transition period not to exceed 90 days from the date of award). Four full one-year options following the initial base period will also be included. In accomplishing the objectives of this contract, the successful offeror will: Operate the FMCSA Gateway into the Commercial Driver License Information Systems and other US commercial driver, vehicle, and motor carrier safety systems; establish and operate telecommunications Network Bridge based on frame relay technology that utilizes TCP/IP, connecting Mexican commercial driver license and motor carrier information systems and the FMCSA Gateway; establishing an interconnection to the Canadian commercial drivers license and motor carrier and commercial driver?s license information systems; explore and develop new technology solutions to meet FMCSA needs for data access and data collection, as requested by FMCSA; provide adequate measures to ensure continuity of operations in the event of a disaster; and a multitude of other tasks to be spelled out in the solicitation. The types of skills expected to be required include Project Director, Sr. Systems Analyst, Programmer/Analyst, Technical Writer, and Subject Matter Experts. This will be an unrestricted competition. The solicitation for this effort should be posted to FEDBIZOPS or before December 01, 2003 with responses due by December 31, 2003.
