- Medical Supplies - Potential Sources Sought Military Hospitals - (Army, Navy, Air Force) TRICARE Regions 9 and 10 Pre-filled Syringes - Standardization Point of Contact: Cindy Ingrao, Clinical Consultant, Tri-Service Regional Business Office, TRICARE Regions 9 & 10, San Diego, CA. Telephone: (619) 532-8517. Potential sources sought to participate in the regional standardization of Pre-filled Syringes (heparin and saline flush). TRICARE Regions 9 and 10, a military integrated delivery network (IDN), comprised of Army, Navy and Air Force medical treatment centers in California are in the process of standardizing Pre-filled Syringes. Other TRICARE Regions may decide to work with Regions 9 and 10 as we go though the process. If your company currently holds or in the process of obtaining a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) with the Defense Supply Center-Philadelphia (DSCP) for Pre-filled Syringes, your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. Please respond by Email: cingrao@reg9.med.navy.mil and provide your (a) company name, (b) address, (c) point of contact, (d) telephone, (e) fax number, (f) E-mail address, and (e) answers to the below listed questions no later than December 1, 2003. For questions, please call (619) 532-8517. 1. Does your company manufacture pre-filled syringes for heparin and saline flush? 2. Are your products available through the Prime Vendor, Owens & Minor or McKesson? 3. What is your DAPA Number? 4. Under what brand(s) does your company manufacture or distribute your product? 5. Under what standards is your product manufactured? 6. Is your product latex free? 7. Do you use non-toxic, color fast dyes for labeling on your products? 8. What material are your syringes made of? 9. Do your syringes come capped and sterile in a package that can be delivered to a sterile field? 10. What tip styles are available for your syringes? 11. What sizes are available for your syringes? 12. Does your company have pre-filled heparin flush syringes in 100u/ml? 13. Do you have other doses of pre-filled heparin flush syringes? If so, what are they? 14. Does your company have pre-filled saline flush syringes in 0.9% sodium chloride? 15. Are your syringes compatible with all needless intravenous access systems (accessories, catheters, and tubing)? 16. Do your syringes fit into medication distribution system cubby that is 4.5? (W) x 3.0? (D) x 1 3/8? (H)? 17. What types of vascular access catheters are your syringes approved for? 18. What measures has your company used to avoid confusion between medications in an identical syringe? 19. What types of educational tools or materials do you have for this product line? 20. What kind of staff training does your company provide? 21. Does your company provide customer service 24/7? 22. Is there any history of backorders and/or recalls for this product group?
