- This is a notice of intent to Award Sole Source to Microsoft Consulting Services, or it?s authorized service providers, for follow-on support services to SSG?s Software Technology Solutions, Windows and New Technology, Joint Development Program (JDP) Office. <br><br> Services Needed. The contract is for support services to SSG?s Software Technology Solutions, Windows and New Technology, Joint Development Program Office. The follow on is necessary to continue the support needed to ensure a successful Air Force wide implementation of Microsoft?s largest Windows Active Directory forest. The MAJCOMs are dependent on the work done by the JDP office to make their deployments a smooth process. With subsequent releases of the Windows Operating system the role of the JDP office in supporting Air Force in determining deployment scenarios and architecture standards will only increase. In order to accomplish the directives outlined above, Standard Systems Group office of Software Technology Solutions directorate (SSG/STN) requires access to the Windows Server 2003 proprietary information, Microsoft internal technical product training, and the native solutions/fixes to the Windows Server 2003 functionality. The SOW Identifies seven services provided under the contract including: coordinating communications, providing technical support, consulting services, engineering guidance on migration plans, technical recommendations and technical guidance. These services are provided regarding MS products including: Windows Server 2003 Enterprise architecture, future Windows releases, Windows Operating systems, various MS software test scenarios, Active Directory, .NET Web Services, Windows Sharepoint Services, BizTalk Server 2004, and Corporate Error Reporting, and other emerging MS tools that emerge during the performance period. <br><br> Justification: Supplies or services required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible sources under the authority of FAR 6.302(b)(1)(ii). Interested sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. <br><br> Duration: Period of performance will be for 10 months from the date of the contract award. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all proposals received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
