This solicitation will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about December 4, 2003 with a bid opening date of approximately 45 days following issuance. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND TELEPHONE REQUESTS OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Description: Exterior Painting Old State House and Faneuil Hall, Boston National Historical Park, Boston, Massachusetts. Solicitation Number I1720-04-0401. This project would repaint two National Historic Landmarks: Old State House and Faneuil Hall as described in this announcement. 1. OLD STATE HOUSE: (a) The cleaning of all exterior architectural woodwork, scrape all loose paint to sound substrate and the repair of all loose window glazing putty. (b) Repair rotten wood components located on East elevation balcony. (c) Repaint all exterior architectural woodwork, metal railing and fencing to match existing historic colors as approved. (d) Re-gold-leaf the dome of the center tower. 2. FANEUIL HALL (a) The cleaning of all exterior architectural wood and stone work, scrape all loose paint to sound substrate and repair of all loose window glazing putty. (b) Paint all exterior architectural wood and stone, metal railings and hardware to match existing historic colors as approved. (c) Re-gold-leaf the dome of the roof cupola. The National Park Service anticipates entering into a firm fixed-price construction contract as a result of this solicitation. This acquisition is subject to P.L.100-656, Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program, and as such is open to all concerns regardless of size. The NAICS code for this project is 238320 with a small business size standard of $12.0 million. The contract performance period is 120 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. In accordance with FAR Section 36.204, the estimated price range for this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. Contractors are urged to make a site visit to ascertain existing work conditions. A pre-bid conference will be held on Thursday December 18, 2003 at 10:00AM, further details will be described in the solicitation. All interested bidders are encouraged to attend.
