Description
NAICS Code: 339111 NAICS Code: 339111 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Biological and Economic Analysis Division (BEAD) intends to award a sole source purchase order using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Presque Isles Cultures of Erie, PA under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. The purpose of this acquisition is to establish a supplier of bacterial spore suspensions and inoculated carriers. EPA's market research has indicated that Presque Isles Cultures is the only responsible source available to fulfill this requirement. The initial purchase order is estimated at $1,000, however, subsequent orders estimated at $40,000 may be placed over the next three years. These subsequent orders will be placed with the same vendor as the initial order in order to maintain consistency for experimental reasons. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm who believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which if received within seven (7) calendar days of the date of this announcement will be considered. Any response failing to provide evidence of the capability to provide the items and instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFQ will be ignored. Responses to this posting must be in writing. A determination not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions should be directed to Alan Scanio via e-mail at scanio.alan@epa.gov. Response Time: 12:00 PM EST, November 21th, 2003. Reference numbered note 22.
