Description
This is a modification to the synopsis entitled Digital Signal Processor for Wavefront Sensing 4200030973-GBZ which was posted on November 03, 2003. You are notified that the following changes are made: Additional information has been added for clarification of requirements. A/D Requirements: 4 channels, 2048 by 2048 max data values per sample/per channel; 16 bits per data value Number of DSPs: 32 DSP's; 16 link ports (2 per DSP) for interprocessor communication MFLOPS for each DSP: 1500 MFLOPS (32-bit floating point) or 6 GOPS (16-bit fixed point) per DSP; Fixed or floating point operations Memory Requirement for each DSP: 6 Mbits of on-chip SRAM per DSP; 2 banks external (one per DSP cluster) 256 MB of SDRAM; One 512 MB bank of SDRAM available on PCI bus; Two 8 MB banks of Flash memory Our research at NASA benefits from practical considerations we have gained from the actual use and programming of the TigerSHARC DSP architecture. We have considered the TI DSP but find that the TigerSHARC is better suited to our application and programming. Technical and cost risk has been evaluated by NASA to be less using the TigerSHARC DSP devices. The due date for responses is extended.
