Description
PROPOSERS? DAY ANNOUNCEMENT: The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency?s (DARPA) Advanced Technology Office (ATO) announces a Secret-Level Proposers? Day for the Destructive Suppression of Enemy RF Telecommunications (DeSERT) new start. The goal of this Proposers? Day Conference is to discuss the goals of DeSERT, answer questions, and foster teaming among organizations to the extent practicable. The objective of DeSERT is to develop enabling technologies for guided munitions capable of homing on enemy RF wireless communications. The end goal would be a demonstration product in an existing 81mm mortar round form factor and that would be capable of: 1) receiving RF communications signals, 2) processing the received signal to determine the location of the emitter on the ground, and 3) maneuvering the mortar to a trajectory that ultimately will impact near the target emitter. It is anticipated that a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) will follow in the future. The Proposers? Day Conference will be held on 4 December 2003 at the Executive Conference Center (ECC), 3601 Wilson Boulevard, Ste 600, Arlington, Virginia beginning at 8:30am and anticipated to last until noon. Due to space limitations, each organization is welcome to send three people. We suggest you send one each with technical, business, and contracting expertise. If you wish to attend Proposers? Day, you must have an active Secret-Collateral clearance and register not later than 1 December 2003. To initiate registration, send an e-mail to Jennifer Mozie (Jennifer_Mozie@sra.com) with your name, company name, e-mail address, phone number, and fax number. After initiating registration, you must have your organization?s Security Officer fax your Secret-Collateral clearance to DARPA/ATO at (703) 516-7369 by 1 December 2003. The fax cover sheet should include a remarks section that identifies your name and ?DeSERT Proposers? Day Registration and Clearance Information.? Attendance at the Proposers? Day is voluntary. Attendance is not required to propose to this BAA. Unclassified program information from the DeSERT Proposers? Day will be posted to the DeSERT website: http://www.darpa.mil/ato/solicit/DESERT/index.htm. No classified material will be provided for retention. After the conference, there will be an opportunity to meet individually with Dr. James Freebersyser. These meetings will be only 15 minutes long and are intended to clarify questions you have on the program. They are not for marketing proposals. Please contact Jennifer Mozie of SRA Inc., Adroit C4ISR Center (Jennifer_Mozie@sra.com, (703) 647-1175) or Vic Jaroch of DPM Consulting, Inc.
