Description
On 24 Oct 2003 a sources sought notice was issued under this acquisition number, for the Drydock and Repair of USCGC BOUTWELL. There were not responses from small business HubZones, located within 75 miles of Coast Guard Is, Alameda, CA, capable of drydocking the cutter. Therefore, this acquisition will be issued as a Unrestricted procurement. Contractor's drydock must be located within 75 road miles of Coast Guard Is, Alameda, CA. Work will be begin on 14 April and complete by 8 June 2004. Some of the work to be accomplished includes; hull plating underwater body inspect, underwater and freeboard preservation, lagging renewal, rudder preserve, chain lockers preserve, anchor chain and ground tackle inspect and repair, sea valve overhaul and renewal, propulsion shaft system align and check, CPP hub seals and O rings renewal, tanks clean and inspect, thruster unit overhaul, sea strainers overhaul, drydocking and temporary services. A Request for Proposal will be issued around 5 Jan 2004. The solicitation, specifications and other notifications will be posted on the web at: www.eps.gov. Attn: Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE). The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short Term Lending Program (STLP), offers working capital financing, in the form of lines of credit, to finance accounts receivable for transportation related cotnracts.
