The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business concerns. NSN: 2840-01-416-9863PR P/N: 1864M68G01 NOUN: LPT ROTATING AIR SEAL. ITEM DESCRIPTION: The LPT Rotating Air Seal is a three stepped honeycomb cylindrical device with a metal backing plate. Material and Dimensions are as follows: Material of the backing plate consists of INCO 718. The honeycomb ribbon is constructed from AMS 5536. The metal backing plate has an inside dimension of approximately 13.82 inches. The honeycomb steps measures approximately 13.39 inches, approximately 13.34 inches, and 13.24 inches. APPLICATION: F110 Engine, F16 Aircraft and F101 Engine, B1B Aircraft. DESTINATION: FB2039 DELIVERY: September 2004 ESTIMATED QTY: At this time the estimated quantity is 272. Quantity Ranges will be solicited, 0-176, 177-272, 273-340. The quantity listed can change before award. Contractors should quote on all quantities listed. Unsolicited quantities will be accepted. Qualification Requirements: Sources must be qualified prior to being considered for award. The solicitation will contain instructions for obtaining further information on this requirement. The qualification requirements for this item were established prior to 19 Oct 1984. Qualification Requirements are applicable to Line Item 0001. THE FOLLOWING DATES ARE APPROXIMATE. CONTRACTORS SHALL REFER TO THE SOLICITATION FOR EXACT DATES. The approximately issue date of the solicitation will be 03 December 2003. The approximate response date of the solicitation will be 06 January 2004. The anticipated award date will be 09 April 2004. CONTRACTORS MUST OBTAIN A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION FROM THE FEDBIZOPPS WEBSITE. First Article Test Required. No telephone requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor are acceptable. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. NOTE: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
