Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a sole source Firm-Fixed Price type contract with Symmetricom of Santa Rosa, California 95403, for hardware necessary to procure twelve Mark V Time Code Generators with Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) capabilities, and associated hardware. This hardware is needed to replace the obsolete Datum Time Code Generator units currently installed aboard Special Projects aircraft. Symmetricom through company mergers is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the existing Datum Time Code Generator, and is therefore, the only source that possesses the necessary technical data, knowledge, experience, and expertise to perform these efforts. This requirement will be procured in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. See Note 22.
