Description
THIS RFP MAY BE ACCESSED THROUGH THE RESEARCH CONTRACTS BRANCH HOMEPAGE AT http://rcb.cancer.gov/rcb-internet/index.htm. INTERESTED OFFERORS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DOWNLOADING THEIR OWN COPY OF THE RFP SOLICITATION AND AMENDMENTS. IT IS THE OFFEROR?S RESPONSIBILITY TO MONITOR THE INTERNET SITE FOR THE RELEASE OF THIS SOLICITATION AND AMENDMENTS, IF ANY. The HIV and AIDS Malignancy Branch (HAMB), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), National Cancer Institute (NCI), is seeking qualified offerors to perform neuropsychological testing for children and adults with chronic medical illnesses such as cancer and HIV infection. This will be accomplished through the use of structured standardized assessments and clinical observations. It is anticipated that each year there will be approximately 15 to 20 new pediatric and 5 to 10 new adult patients to be evaluated, in addition to the approximately 80 pediatric HIV-infected patients that are currently enrolled in ongoing clinical trials. Each patient shall be evaluated with a comprehensive evaluation at baseline, which shall be repeated annually and/or at the end of the treatment period. In addition, partial monitoring assessments shall be administered. The contractor shall provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art neuropsychological and behavioral evaluations of pediatric and adult patients with cancer or HIV infection and potentially other chronic illnesses. The nature of the acquisition requires that the contractor have (or provide evidence that they can establish prior to contract award) the ability to provide requested services within 24 hours. The offeror must perform most required assessments and other work at the Clinical Center, National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, MD. Patients will typically be available only for brief outpatient or inpatient stays, and assessments or tests must be accomplished within a 24-hour time frame. This solicitation represents a re-competition of N01-SC-07006, being performed by the Medical Illness Counseling Center. The RFP N01-RC-47007-30 will be issued approximately 25 days after publication of this notice. Proposals will be due approximately 45 days after the issue date.
