- Description
- The Division of Allergy, Immunology and Transplantation (DAIT), of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), plans, sponsors and directs national and international extramural research programs in basic immunology, asthma and allergic and immunologic diseases. Through these programs, DAIT-supported investigators conduct basic, pre-clinical and clinical investigations into the causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of a broad range of immune-mediated disorders. The support to be provided under the contemplated contract consists of services required to obtain, store and deliver investigational agents used in clinical trials performed by the Immune Tolerance Network (ITN) and provide a central location to receive, store, repackage, label and distribute study products in accordance with Federal regulations governing investigational agents. The subject solicitation is being issued as a 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The applicable NIACS code is 541710 with a size standard of 500 employees. The work to be performed shall include: purchase study products; receive and store study products; label and package study products; ship and distribute study products; provide inventory control and quality assurance; provide pharmaceutical services; develop and implement security and safety measures for the storage of study products; process and dispose of returned drugs; maintain a dedicated computerized tracking system for the range of product inventory services; and facilitate an orderly transition to a subsequent contractor. It is anticipated that one (1) cost-reimbursement, completion type contract will be awarded for a period of performance of seven (7) years beginning on or about September 30, 2004. RFP-NIH-NIAID-DAIT-04-45 will be available electronically on or about December 3, 2003, may be accessed through the NIAID Contract Management Program (CMP) Home Page at http://www.niaid.nih.gov/contract and will be posted on FedBizOpps. Any responsible offeror may submit a proposal which will be considered by the Government. This notice does not commit the Government to award a contract. No collect calls will be accepted.
