Description
Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a delivery order to BAE Systems, Information and Electronic Warfare Systems, for the field support of test and evaluation activities of the Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures (IDECM) Radio Frequency Countermeasures Subsystem. This order is for the supplies and services required of the Contractor to complete development and testing of the Integrated Defensive Electronic Counter Measures (IDECM) - Radio Frequency Countermeasures (RFCM), ALE-55 Fiber Optic Towed Decoy (FOTD) Round Assembly. The Contractor shall analyze, design, test, and assess the impact of incorporation of advanced tow and signal cable designs for the IDECM RFCM system. The Contractor shall also analyze, design, procure, test, and assess the impact of incorporation of FOTD Round Assembly design changes to improve safe separation and tow performance on the F/A-18E/F. The intent is to improve the safe separation and tow performance on the F/A-18E/F aircraft. The overall program is divided into phases: Phase 1 ? Concept Development; Phase 2 - Initial Test and Evaluation; Phase 3 ? Downselect Test and Evaluation; Phase 4 ? Final Development, Design, Test and Evaluation; and Phase 5 ? Final Development, Design, Test and Evaluation. BAE Systems as the sole designer and developer of the AN/ALQ-214 and the ALE-55, and also is the only known source available to provide the required effort and expertise.
