Description
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES NEEDED: The Indian Health Service (IHS), Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospital is seeking board certified Family Practice or Emergency Medicine Physicians for the PHS Indian Hospital, Crow Service Unit on the Crow Indian Reservation, Crow Agency, Montana. The contractors shall provide coverage in the emergency room from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on weeknights, and from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on weekends. The contractors shall work anywhere from 2 to 5 shifts per month, on an as needed basis, and at times may have to cover weekday emergency room shifts during staff shortages. Contractors shall be certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). The contractors must be licensed and must be licensed and meet all credentialing requirements at the facility as outlined in the medical staff by-laws, rules and regulations, and according to Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital Organizations (JCAHO). The IHS intends to award multiple contracts as a result of this solicitation. The contracts shall be awarded pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 37.1, Personal Services Contracts, and Title VIII of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act of 1994 (Public Law 103-355) and FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The Federal Tort Claims Act for medical related claims is extended to contractors for services performed within the scope of the personal services contract. The contractors shall be subject to a character investigation as required by Public Law 101-630, Indian Family Violence Prevention Act and Public Law 101-647, Crime Control Act. The contracts will be awarded for a 12-month period with three 12-month options. Prospective contractors should submit a bid for the first 12 month period and for each of the three option years. Requests for the solicitation should be submitted by December 10, 2003. The tentative issue date of the solicitation is December 10, 2003, with a response date of December 24, 2003.
