Description
NA United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Headquarters and the United States Army Field Artillery Center are conducting a Precision Effects Study. The study will determine the current or near-term precision engagement solutions from all pos sible technologies available to the Army and in support of the Army, existing or emerging, to select those that will yield the best pay-off in precision capability of the field artillery and mortar fire support assets available to a maneuver brigade comman der, while concurrently minimizing the logistics burden. The study will also outline how the Army can expedite getting those solutions to the Soldiers. The purpose is to provide to the Commanding General, TRADOC and then the Department of the Army, by January 2004, solution candidates from a survey of all potential precision enhancements that are in the technology base. These solution candidates must pro vide fire support capabilities to maneuver commanders across a broad range of situations/conditions that require the delivery of precision effects. The candidate solutions, derived through coordination with industry and Science and Technology (S&T), must be ready for current or near term fielding (next 24-36 months) and must represent an improvement in engagement efficiency, the ability to meet restrictive ROE requirements on effects, and potential logistical efficiency at a reasonable cost. A list of required capabilities will be provided to interested parities no later than 19 Dec, 2003. Selected industry and S&T candidate solutions will be evaluated and briefed during the week of 12-16 Jan, 2004 to the Precision Effects Senior Advisory Gro up. Interested companies may submit the following to: Mr. Tom Hills, hillst@sill.army.mil Company Name Point of Contact Phone Number e-mail address.
