Description
The Government intends to acquire scrap railroad wheels using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. NOAA's Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL)requires scrap railroad wheels with approximates weights of 1100, 840, and 710 pounds with certain specifications as outlined in the solicitation. Delivery to be made FOB Seattle, WA. The resulting contract will be a firm-fixed price Indefinite Quantity Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ) contract consisting of a base year and two (2) additional one-year options. Delivery order(s) will be issued on an as-needed basis with minimum and maximum ordering levels established. This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside and is under North American Industry Classification System code 421930 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. All vendors doing business with the Government are now required to be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov. In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award, all offerors must have a Dunn & Bradstreet Number. A Dunn & Bradstreet number may be acquired free of charge by contacting Dunn & Bradstreet on-line at https://www.dnb.com/product/eupdate/requestOptions.html or by phone at (800) 333-0505. A Request for Proposals (RFP) solicitation will be available on or about December 9, 2003, through the Government's website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Interested parties should use the FedBizOpps "register to receive notification" and "register as an interested vendor" feature which provides notification when the RFP becomes available for download and all postings associated with the solicitation. No paper copies of the solicitation will be issued. It is incumbent upon interested parties to register at the solicitation's site for notification and to review the site frequently for any updates/amendments to any and all documents.
