Description

NA Solicitation will be issued on a Full & Open basis for a quantity of approximately 275,000 each CXU-3-A/B Signal Cartridges. The solicitation includes FY03 and FY04 requirements. The CXU-3A/B Signal Cartridge is used in practice bombs to mark the impact l ocation on bombing ranges. It is used in the following practice bombs: BDU-48,MK76, MK106, BDU-33, LGTR and Inert MK80 Series bombs when equipped with the MK89 Spotting Charge Adapter. The CXU-3A/B is composed of a cylindrical aluminum case that contain s a 3-gram smokeless powder expellant charge, a glass ampoule that contains titanium tetrachloride and a percussion primer. Solicitation will include a 100% evaluated option. The CXU-3A/B Signal Cartridges are shipped in M2A1 Metal Boxes, on MK3 Metal Pa llets that are furnished by the Government. Central Contractor Registration (CCR) is required for contractors to be eligible for award. Contractors must also be registered with the U.S./Canada Joint Certification Program (JCP) to be eligible to receive t he technical data package (TDP). Requests for TDP should be emailed to combsr@osc.army.mil. All TDP requests must include either contractor's cage code and/or JCP certification number. Issue date for the solicitation is o/a 15 December 2003. Solicitatio n will be based on Best Value criteria stated in the solicitation.
