Description

The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound (FISCPS) is soliciting for an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity type contract to be negotiated on a sole source basis with Wartsila Lips, Inc. for all necessary materials, travel, and technical representative services for the repair/replacement of the stern tube seals, as well as the rudder seals. Wartsila Lips, formerly John Crane Marine, is the OEM for the seals; thus, due to compatibility issues, SRF Yokosuka must procure the repairs/replacements from subject contractor. Place of performance is Ship Repair Facility Yokosuka, Japan. Period of performance will extend from the date of award to one year thereafter. The commercial solicitation will be issued on or about 4 December 2003 with a closing date of 10 December 2003. Per FAR 5.203(h), the solicitation closing date has been reduced to 16 days from this announcement. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Proposed contract to be procured using commercial Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12. Electronic submission of proposals/quotes is not available at this time.
