Description
MIL-STD-129 ALERT -- Until further notice, DLA is utilizing MIL-STD-129N in lieu of MIL-STD-129P. Inspectors and contractors are instructed to utilize MIL-STD-129N for DLA contracts until an implementation announcement is released on this web site. Contractors may voluntarily utilize MIL-STD-129P at this time before it becomes mandatory. The DLA Packaging web site is as follows: http:\\www.dscc.dla.mil/offices/packaging. Marking FAQs will be updated when DLA implements MIL-STD-129P. DLA expects to invoke MIL-STD-129P February 17, 2004. Revision P is the latest version of MIL-STD-129 and establishes significant new requirements for DoD contractors to provide both linear and two-dimensional (2-D) bar coding on military shipping labels of packaged materiel. Questions regarding this policy may be directed to: dlapackaging@hq.dla.mil
