Description
NA The work consists of all plant, labor, materials, and equipment, and performing all work in strict accordance with the specifications and drawings for the maintenance dredging of material from the Moriches Inlet with placement of the dredged material along the shoreline west of the inlet. Moriches Inlet is scheduled to be dredged to a depth of 14 feet plus 2 feet allowable overdepth with the removal of approximately 280,000 cubic yards of shoal material. The solicitation will be issued on or about 15 Dece mber 2003. Plans and specifications may be examined at this office or any of the following offices: FW Dodge Company-1221 Avenue of the Americas, New York NY; or Brown s Letters-163 Stuyvesant Avenue, Lyndhurst NJ. Forty-five (45) calendar days have bee n allowed for completion of work awarded under this contract. The estimated value of this project is between $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. A firm-fixed-price contract is contemplated. This acquisition is UNRESTRICTED. The applicable NAICS Code is 237 990 (All Other Heavy Construction) with a small business size standard of $17.0 Million, in three-year average annual receipts. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified in the contract, the contractor shall pay liquidated dam ages to the Government in the amount of $1,470.00 per calendar-day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The media selected for the issuance of solicitations and amendments shall be solely at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, the media utilized for this project are the Internet and CD-ROM. Paper copies of this solicitation, and amendments, if any, will not be available or issued. Interested parties may download and print the solicitation, at no charge at http://www.nan.usace.army .mil (Contracting Opportunities). Utilization of the Internet is the preferred method. However, CDs will be available upon written request stating the Solicitation Number, or project name, complete company name and street address (we will not deliver to P. O. Boxes), telephone and facsimile number (including area codes). Make check or money order payable in the amount of $10.00 to the FAO, USAED-NY, and mail it to the US Army Corps of Engineers, 26 Federal Plaza, Room 1843, New York, NY 10278-0090, Attn: Alan P. Minimum system requirements are a 486-based personal computer, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater, and an 8 MB application RAM. A registration page is attached to the website, and prospective bidders are required to register to receive notice of any amendments and or addenda that may be issued to the solicitation. All dates listed are estimated. It is the bidder s responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendm ents (if any). Any prospective bidder interested in bidding on the solicitation must register for plans and specifications in order to download a copy of the solicitation and be placed on the Plan Holders List. If you are not registered, the U. S. Govern ment is not responsible for providing you with notification of any changes to the solicitation. Prime contractors, subcontractors, and Dodge/Plan Rooms are required to self-register its firm or office on the Internet in order to be able to download the el ectronic files. The solicitations will be available on or about 15 December 2003. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB (Invitation for Bids). Registration Requirements: DFARS 252.204-7004, Required Central Contractor Registration (CCR), applies to this procurement. Prospective contractors must be registered in the Department of Defense CCR database prior to award. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
