- Medical Supplies - Potential Sources Sought Military Hospitals - (Army, Navy, Air Force) TRICARE Regions 9 and 10 Safety Syringes with Needles - Standardization Point of Contact: Cindy Ingrao, Clinical Consultant, Tri-Service Regional Business Office, TRICARE Regions 9 & 10, San Diego, CA. Telephone: (619) 532-8517. Potential sources sought to participate in the regional standardization of Safety Syringes with Needles. TRICARE Regions 9 and 10, a military integrated delivery network (IDN), comprised of Army, Navy and Air Force medical treatment centers in California are in the process of standardizing Safety Syringes with Needles. If your company currently holds or in the process of obtaining a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) with the Defense Supply Center-Philadelphia (DSCP) for Safety Syringes with Needles, your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. Please respond by Email: cingrao@reg9.med.navy.mil and provide your company name, address, point of contact, telephone, fax and E-mail address and answers to the below listed questions no later than December 12, 2003. For questions, please call (619) 532-8517. 1. Does your company manufacture sterile safety syringes with needles? 2. Do your safety syringes with needles come as one unit? 3. Does your company have safety needles that can be used with conventional syringes? 4. Are your products available through the Prime Vendor, Owens & Minor? 5. What is your DAPA Number? 6. Under what brand(s) does your company manufacture or distribute your products? 7. Under what standards are your products manufactured? 8. Is the safety feature an integral part of the safety needle and syringe? 9. Does the safety feature activate automatically or does it have to be activated by the user? 10. Does the safety feature require the user?s hands to remain behind the needle at all times? 11. After activation of the safety feature, does it remain activated during removal of the needle from the patient and after disposal? 12. What gauges and lengths do your safety needles and syringes come in? 13. Do you have gauges and lengths suitable for preemies, neonates, and the elderly? 14. Are your products latex free? 15. Do you use non-toxic, color fast dyes for labeling on your products? 16. What material are your syringes made of? 17. What material are your needles made of? 18. Are your syringes incompatible with any fluids or medications? 19. Do your syringes come capped and sterile in a package that can be delivered to a sterile field? 20. What tip styles are available for your safety syringes? 21. What sizes are available for your safety syringes? 22. What gauges and lengths are available for your safety needles? 23. What types of educational tools or materials do you have for this product line? 24. What kind of staff training does your company provide? 25. Does your company provide customer service 24/7? 26.
