Description

Naval Air Depot, Cherry Point, NC, Information Technology-Information Management Department, Desk-side Services Branch, Code 7.2.4.1 is seeking information from industry sources regarding support to the Depot?s internal Telephone System, which provides support for approximately 4000 customers. The Depot is a tenant command located on the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, adjacent to the town of Havelock, in Eastern North Carolina. This Request for Information pertains to a current pre-solicitation notice for N00421-03-R-0142. The successful offeror will be responsible for assisting Government personnel in managing, configuring, installing, testing, and fault isolation of Nortel Meridian 81C PABX, Coral Tadiran PABX?s, and Motorola Zetron Paging systems. Other support services include installation of analog and digital phones, Cat5 and Cat6 data cabling, special circuit requirements such as; energy monitoring, camera switching and clocking system. In-service support on a day-to-day basis is required to manage and maintain all telecommunications systems and circuits. The successful offeror must be capable of providing support in all aspects of the Nortel Meridian 81C PABX, the installation and support of CAT 5 data and voice cabling, the installation and support of fiber optic cabling, the installation and support of coaxial cabling, and the installation and support of analog and digital telephone handsets. Ability to support the Coral Tadiran PABX system and Motorola Zetron Paging systems is also required. This requirement is for full time, on-site support. The anticipated level of effort will be approximately three full-time personnel consisting of the following mix: One (1) full time, on-site support personnel to provide telephone switch and system support, and two (2) full-time personnel to provide administrative support consisting of cabling and other technical tasks. The personnel shall mainly provide full-time support on the Depot?s first shift of operations. Support during other than first shift will also be required, and the work schedule may be adjusted at the direction of the Government. The period of performance consists of one base year and three option years. Complete control of the telephone support services for the Depot may eventually be transferred to the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet contract. If that occurs during the performance of this contract, these services will no longer be needed. The information received in response to this RFI will be used to develop a procurement strategy. Of specific interest to the Government is the ability and interest of Small Business Concerns. Please identify the size of your firm in your response. If sufficient Small Business interest exists, this requirement may be set aside for small business. The following NAICS Code / Size Standard apply: NAICS 517910 (Other Telecommunications) / Size Standard $12.5M. Please provide information on (1) Ability to Technically meet the needs of the Government (Please include a brief Staffing Plan), and (2) List and brief description of previous similar efforts completed. This Request For Information (RFI) does not in anyway constitute a Request For Proposal (RFP) and, as such, is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice, nor otherwise pay for information / items solicited. Information / items solicited will not be returned. To be of maximum benefit to the program, responses must be received by 15 December 2003.
