Description

REQUIREMENT: The San Francisco Mint requires a Task Order Contract for General Construction Contractors to provide; labor, materials, tools, management, supervision, and equipment as required for the completion of various construction projects at the Mint facility located at 155 Hermann Street, San Francisco, CA 94102. The Government intends to award an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity multiple awards contract to each of up to four separate Contractors. Each award will be for a base year and four (4) ordering periods, a total of five (5) years. Pricing will be provided for each individual Task Order. Construction work required by each contractor will involve all trades normally utilized in heavy industrial construction, to include but not limited to, installation and movement of heavy equipment, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, carpentry, sheet metal, masonry, and painting. Some task orders may require concrete, steel erection, ceramic tile, carpet, asbestos removal, sprinkler or fire alarm device or system installation and programming, chemical laboratory installation, and occasional limited engineering design efforts. The following is a list of some projects contemplated for the fiscal years 2004 through 2008. The projects included on this list are not guaranteed for award against this contract - Chemical Washroom renovation, Fire sprinkler system renovations and additions, Fire Alarm system renovations, exterior granite cleaning/sealing, repair/replace various exterior windows, replace roof, boiler replacement/ upgrade, material treatment chemical drain system upgrades, building structural and equipment seismic bracing, roof fall protection, landscape renovations, various office renovations, and coining equipment relocation/installations. VENDOR PRE-QUALIFICATION: All interested vendors need to submit a Capabilities statement for Pre-qualification. The statement shall include various technical in-house capabilities related to the various types of trades shown above, specifically mechanical, electrical and design. The vendor shall also provide a listing of previous or current jobs in heavy industrial areas. The capabilities statement shall be sent to the San Francisco Mint, Purchasing Branch, 155 Hermann Street, San Francisco, CA 94102, Attn: Ann Bell or fax to 415-575-7652. Only when the vendor is pre-qualified by the Mint, will that vendor receive a copy of the Solicitation and be invited to a Pre-proposal conference. CAPABILITIES STATEMENT DUE DATE:The due date for receipt of the Capabilities statement is December 22, 2003. SECURITY CLEARANCES: All Contractors and Contractors representatives require a security clearance prior to entering the SF Mint facility. All Contractor employees must be U.S. citizens or have lawful permanent resident alien status. Proof of citizenship is required for those citizens born outside of the U.S., to include a Permanent Resident Status Card, Certificate of Naturalization, or a Certificate of Birth Abroad. For security clearances, the Contractors will be provided a SF Mint clearance form to complete and return. NOTE: In accordance with 31 U.S.C. ? 5136, no provisions of law governing procurement or public contracts are applicable to the procurement of goods or services necessary for carrying out Mint programs and operations.
