Description
This project will consist of grading, paving, drainage, bridge, and structural fills on 11.002 km of roadway for CA 149-1(2), Mad River Road, in Six Rivers - Trinity National Forest, Trinity County, State of California. Estimated price range is greater than $10,000,000.00. This project contains 1 schedule. Principal work items include: lump sum contractor testing; survey and staking (various); 7,900 m silt fence; 3,500 m sediment control log; 20,000 m3 watering for dust control; 18.6 ha clearing and grubbing; 171,000 m3 roadway excavation; 67,000 m3 waste; 1,710 m3 placed riprap (various); 3,150 m3 shear key buttress; 2,450 m3 embankment foundation drain; 17,480 m3 rock inlay; 58,500 metric tons aggregate base; 1,350 metric tons asphalt cement grade PBA-6a; 210 metric tons antistrip additive type 3; 21,500 metric tons superpave asphalt concrete pavement; 173 m concrete filled steel pipe piles, in-place; 37 m3 structural concrete (various class); 9 precast, prestressed concrete structural members (various width); 15 m detour bridge; 57 each concrete headwall (various); 1,620 m pipe culvert (various); 36 m precast reinforced concrete box culvert; 1,640 m special underdrain system; 840 m horizontal drain pipe; 2035 m guardrail system G4, (various) wood posts; 26 each terminal section (various type); remove and reset 920 m guardrail; 590 m concrete barrier; heavy equipment operators (various); 17,300 m3 placing conserved topsoil; seeding and mulching, both hyrdraulic and dry methods; 25,000 m2 erosion control mat; 70 each warning lights (types A, B or C); traffic control and traffic and safety supervisor. The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
