The purpose of this RFP (NIH-NIAID-DMID-04-49) is to provide resources for the continued development of MVA vaccine candidates. The main objectives of this RFP are to advance late-stage MVA candidates through: (1) intermediate-scale manufacturing (3?5 million doses), (2) expansive Phase II studies (including populations at-risk for live vaccine vaccination), (3) extensive animal testing in fulfillment of 21 CFR 601.91 and, (4) preparation for large-scale manufacture. Mandatory evaluation criteria will be included in Section M of the RFP, ?Evaluation Factors for Award,? and will set forth the criteria that must be met at the time of proposal receipt. It is anticipated that one (1) or more cost reimbursement, completion type contracts will be awarded for a period of three (3) years, beginning approximately July 30, 2004. RFP-NIH?NIAID?DMID?04?49 will be available electronically on or about December 4, 2003, and may be accessed through the NIAID Contract Management Branch (CMB) Home Page http://www.niaid.nih.gov/contract, and will be posted on FedBizOpps. Responses will be due on or about January 30, 2004. Any responsible Offeror may submit a proposal that will be considered by the Government. This advertisement does not commit the Government to award a contract. No collect calls will be accepted. No facsimile transmissions will be accepted.
