- Description
- Provide Architect/Engineer Services to complete a feasibility study and construction drawings for a project to construct an addition to the Medical Center to contain a magnetic resonance imaging unit at the VA Medical Center, Fayetteville, Arkansas. The feasiblity study should include, but not be limited to, audits of existing facilities and anticipated location of an MRI building addressing safety, zoning, magnet safety, adjacencies, cryogen safety, patient visualization, and functional issues related to expansion and equipment upgrades. Location chosen will meet all technical and functional requirements of the MRI equipment and will not interfere with the operation of any surrounding activities or equipment. Upon completion and acceptance of the feasibility study, the architect/engineer firm shall complete the design of construction drawings. Design considerations will include, but not necessarily be limited to: space allocations and assignment; space layout; accessibility for the disabled; foundations; roof; walls and doors; suspended ceilings; floor coverings; lighting and electrical outlets; elevators; communications including telephones, computer systems, alarms, etc.; heating, ventilation and airconditioning; plumbing and fixtures; fire alarms; fire sprinklers; continued Medical Center operation during construction. Evaluation consideration will be as follows: (1) specialized experience of the firm with similar contracts; (2) past record of performance on similar contracts; (3) geographic location and facilities of the working office; (4) specific experience and qualifications of personnel proposed for assignment to the project. Area of consideration is restricted to firms within a 250-mile radius of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Firms desiring consideration should submit a SF 254 and SF 255 on or before January 2, 2004. Award subject to availability of funds. This is not a request for a proposal.
