Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA has a requirement for DRY DOCK and repairs. This acquisition is for DRY DOCK and repair of NOAA Ship THOMAS JEFFERSON, a 208 foot, 45 ft beam (molded); 12ft 6 in draft, propulsion - diesel Single screw, electric 350 kw, 225/450 volts AC; crew size – 26, cruising speed of 12 knots. Vessel's homeport is Norfolk, VA. All work will be performed at contractor's facility. The performance period will be 30 calendar days with a start date on or about January 13, 2004 and shall be completed on or before February 11, 2004. Basic and Optional contract items include but are not limited to temporary services; dry docking and routine dry dock work; sea valve and strainer overhauls; tailshaft, bearings and propeller repairs; miscellaneous steel renewals; miscellaneous piping repairs; underwater body coating; SSDG Generator Overhauls; fire damper actuator & connecting rod; general alarm addition; external speakers installation; remote valve operators repairs; emergency escape hatch installation; shore power connection box repairs; integrated cable infrastructure installation. Foreseeable costs will be applied for contract evaluation. All work shall be performed in accordance with detailed specifications number MOC/NSL-03-03, dated October 2003 and NOAA standard specifications, to be provided with the solicitation. Vessel will be available for inspection November 10, 2003 thru November 28, 2003 at vessel’s homeport, Norfolk, VA (subject to change. Arrangements for inspection can be made by contacting the Port Engineer, Neil Lamartin at (757)441-6369). At the present time, this acquisition will be issued as a RFP under full and open competition procedures. To be eligible for award, offerors must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR): www.ccr.gov and obtain (and provide with the offer) a DUNS number by calling 1-800-333-0505. Copies of the solicitation will be available on or about November 3, 2003 and will be provided at www.fedbizopps.gov.
