- Description
- Pre-Invitation Notice for Child Care Expansion, Richard Bolling Federal Building, 601 E. 12th. Street, Kansas City, Missouri. Job PCN RMO23590. IFB O/A 1/14/04. Estimated Cost Range: $500,000 - $1,000,000. Time for completion: 300 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. No document charge or deposit is required. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220. Size standard is $28.5 million. Base Bid Work includes but is not limited to: Demolition, rough carpentry, interior architectural woodwork, sprayed fire-resistive materials, joint sealants, steel doors and frames, flush wood doors, access doors and frames, door hardware, glazing, gypsum board assemblies, ceramic tile, acoustical panel ceilings, resilient tile flooring, linoleum floor coverings, carpet, interior painting, toilet compartments, signs, fire protection specialties, toilet accessories, fire alarm, supports and anchors, mechanical identification, mechanical insulation, wet-pipe sprinkler system, plumbing piping systems and plumbing specialties, plumbing fixtures, power ventilators, ductwork, air inlets and outlets, testing, adjusting and balancing, grounding and bonding, conductors and cables, raceways and boxes, wiring devices, enclosed switches and circuit breakers, panel boards, dry-type transformers (600 V and less), fuses, and interior lighting. Options include but are not limited to: wall demolition, removal of existing movable partition and support, removal of existing vault, removal of existing counter, removal of existing windows, doors, frames and hardware, construct one-hour fire/asbestos barrier around the perimeter of the existing center and between phases one and two, abatement of two layers of existing floor tile and mastic, removal of light fixtures, diffusers, suspended ceiling system and all sprayed-on fireproofing, asbestos materials around all piping, ductwork, and existing floor/ceiling penetrations, one-hour fire wall/asbestos barrier construction, removal of existing ceilings, lights, diffusers, sprayed-on asbestos material, new suspended ceiling tile system, new lights to replace existing and new diffusers, removal of the one-hour wall as described in the solicitation documents. Interested offerors are required to obtain a Dun & Bradstreet, Inc., DUNS identification number and register their name in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. If the offeror has not already been assigned a DUNS identification number, the offeror will be required to obtain a DUNS identification number prior to registration in the CCR. A DUNS identification number can be obtained by contacting Dun & Bradstreet, Inc., at phone (800) 333-0505. If the offeror is not currently registered in the CCR database, registration can be made via the World Wide Web at http://www.bpn.gov. Your CCR registration should take approximately 48 hours for processing and activation. This procurement is being made under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program (F.A.R. 52-219-19). This procurement is open to small and large business concerns. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the agency within the limits of this announcement. Prior to award of the contract, the successful bidder (if a large business) will be required to submit and have GSA approve a small business sub-contracting plan. Contract award will be contingent upon receipt and approval of the subcontracting plan, in accordance with Public Law 95-507, to provide the maximum practical opportunities for Small Business, Small Business owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and by Women-Owned Small Businesses. All interested large business firms are reminded that the successful firm will be expected to place subcontracts to the maximum practical extent with small and disadvantaged firms as part of their ORIGINAL SUBMITTED TEAMS. As a guide GSA’s FY ’03 subcontracting goals were as follows: Small Business (40%), HUBZone Small Business (3%), Small Disadvantaged Business (8%), Women-Owned Small Business (5%), Veteran-Owned Small Business (5%), and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (3%).
