- Description
- This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI). This is not a request for proposals and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The Department of Defense Naval Surface Warfare Indian Head Division Research and Technology Department is seeking to identify sources capable of providing the following: Lead stannate with the theoretical molecular formula of PbSnO3. A 55% nominal lead content and a 31% nominal tin content. Water of hydration or otherwise may be used as a correction factor. The manufacturer should be able to supply Lot sizes of 1 to 20-lbs. The manufacturer may synthesize the product by precipitation or other means available. The material should be in powder or granular form. Final evaluations will be performed by the end user as a ballistic modifier in double base propellant. The qualification performed will evaluate its catalytic effect at promo ting the propellants burn-rate.
