Description
This is a pre-solicitation notice seeking the services of a contractor to provide all materials, equipment, and labor necessary to safely remove Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACM), Lead Based Paint (LBP), and other environmentally contentious materials from Karrick Hall, Building No. 17 on the DC General Hospital Property at 1900 Massachusetts Avenue, SE in Washington, D.C. 2002. Additionally, removal of selected building components such as exterior steel windows containing lead based paint and interior partitions or portions thereof may be included. Other materials include but are not limited to oil residue, one oil tank (located inside building), printing equipment and residue. ACM removal work will include, but is not limited to removal of insulation and ACM adhesiveon ductwork and the ACM mastic on the chilled water piping, large quantities of floor tile and adhesive some of which has carpert overlays.. Complete demolition of the plaster and masonry chases and plaster ceiling surrounding the ductwork and the piping will be required. This is a building leased by the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency from the City of the District of Columbia. All work shall be performed in full compliance with all applicable EPA, OSHA, DOT, and NIOSH regulations, all other applicable Federal, State, and City of the District of Columbia government regulations. The estimated price range of this project is between $500,000.00 and $1million. Project performance time is 90days after Notice to Proceed. A site visit is scheduled for December 23, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the project site. The Government?s solicitation for bids will be available on or about December 23, 2003. ONLY THOSE CONTRACTORS PARTICIPATING IN THE SITE VISIT WILL BE PROVIDED A COPY OF THE INVITATION FOR BID AND WILL BE ALLOWED TO BID ON THE PROJECT. Invitation for bids with specifications and drawings will be made available on or about December 23, 2003. Contractors interested in this solicitation shall have a minimum of five years experience in projects of this estimated cost and complexity. All interested bidders are requested to fax a confirmation on company letterhead to 202-220-5711 not later than December, 22 2003 indicating their intent on attending the site visit (including names of attendees) and their conformance with the experience clause above including project history relative to such experience and references.
