Description

NA Red River Army Depot, Texarkana Texas, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis the estimated yearly requirement of 1300 gallons of adhesive PN 532EF and P-11 with Rohm and Haas Co. Alexandria OH. The adhesives will be used in support of the roadwheel a nd track shoe propduction at the depot. The requirements type contract will be for a base year plus one option year. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 10 U S C 2304 (c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Tests h ave indicated that the adhesives 532EF and P-11 manufactured by Rohm and Haas are the only qualified adhesives that adequately bond in the compression and injection equipment utilized by the depot. Interested firms by identify their interest and capabilit y to respond to the requirement, however this notice of intent is not a request for proposals. Any proposals received within the due date period will be considered by the Government. A determination by the government not to compete with this proposed contr act based upton responses to this notice is soley within the discretion of the Government. Informtion received will normally be considered soley for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
