Description
The National Institute on Aging (NIA), National Institutes of Health, is seeking small businesses with the capabilities to develop, maintain, and distribute a large standing colony of aged hybrid rats for use by investigators in the studies of aging. This colony is to be developed and maintained within controlled and defined barrier environments where animals are monitored and characterized for disease status and markers of genetic purity. The full Statement of Work and Technical Evaluation Criteria for this project are attached. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) and does not commit the Government to award a contract now or in the future. No RFP is available at this time. Small business concerns that believe they possess the capability necessary to undertake the work described in the Statement of Work should submit an original and two (2) copies of their capability statements to the address shown above by December 30, 2003. Electronic copies of capability statements will also be accepted and can be emailed to: tb14j@nih.gov The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 112990. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested parties may identify to the Contracting Officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government?s requirement with a commercial item within 15 calendar days of this notice. No collect calls will be accepted.
