Description

The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center's Natick Contracting Division intends to award a purchase order to Aerovironment Incorporated, a small business from Monrovia, CA, on a basis of other than full and open competition under the authority i n FAR Subpart 6.302-1; only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Army acquired six (6) Raven prototype unmanned aircraft vehicles under a research and development contract awarded competitively to Aerovironment in March 2002 against Natick's Broad Agency Announcement #01 -03. The Army is now interested in trading in these six (6) prototype vehicles for six (6) upgraded, better-quality unmanned aircraft Raven prototypes. Aerovironment is determined to be the only source for this as they were the manufacturers of the original prototypes, and they are now producing the upgraded prototypes. The cost of this upgrade will be at or below the simplified acquisition threshold of $100K. There is no solicit ation document available for this acquisition. Interested sources shall make any inquiries about this work no later than 24 December 2003. Reference note 22, as above shall be awarded utilizing simplified acquisition procedures, quotations received withi n seven (7) days after date of publication of this synopsis shall be considered by the Army.
