- NA The Volpe Center plans to procure a sole source from Livermore Software Technology Corporation (LSTC), Livermore, CA, to provide renewal of proprietary site licenses for (a) LS-Dyna3d on 35 CPU?s and (b) licenses for LS-Dyna3d on 19 additional CPU?s for a period of one year from January 2004 through January 2005. This requirement will be conducted under Simplified Acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. The Volpe Center has been supporting National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the areas of automobile modeling and crashworthiness evaluation, biomechanical modeling and analysis, and related engineering studies in the development of finite element vehicle models specifically to run on LSDYna3d. Small Business firms classified under North American Indus try C lassification System code 541519 that are interested in responding, must demonstrate in writing within 15 days of the date of this synopsis that they possess the (1) rights proprietary codes and (2) familiarity with the special computational capabilities which consist around Livermore Software Technology Corporation?s (LSTC) finite element software and user training. Small business firms will be required to submit a minimum of 1 page not to exceed 3 pages per criteria stated above for evaluation by the Government prior to receiving a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This proposed action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Govern ment not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice received would normally be considered, solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. RFQ issuance will be on or about January 3, 2004. A single award will result from this solicitation. No telephone requests will be accepted - only written requests for this solicitation will be accepted - however, we will accept requests for this quotation via facsimile, at (617) 494-3024, Attn: Donald MacGee DTS-853.
