Description
The Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV Sea Shield (N76 and N77)), Arlington, VA together with the Program Executive Officer for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS), Washington Navy Yard, Washington D.C. is holding a Pre-Solicitation Conference as a follow-on to the August 2003 ASW Industry Day. It is our intent to discuss new U.S. Navy Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) challenges with Senior Representatives from the national technical and industrial community. Technical and operational ASW challenges will be discussed in terms of a FY04 Broad Area Announcement (BAA) solicitation to be issued shortly after the Pre-Solicitation Conference. Information regarding the upcoming solicitation will be announced via FEDBIZOPP. The Pre-Solicitation Conference will be held 28 January 2004 at the Anteon Corporation Conference Center, 1100 New Jersey Avenue S.E., Washington D.C. Attendance wil l be limited to two (2) representatives per company or organization. It is requested that each participating organization provide only senior representatives. The security classification for the event will be SECRET(NOFORN). Background. The U.S. Navy is seeking to dramatically improve ASW capability at the platform and theater level. At this Pre-Solicitation Conference, the U.S. Navy will describe its ASW challenges and seek community participation in formulating an approach by which the Navy can achieve improved ASW performance goals. The primary short-term goal is to fund staged development of promising solutions beginning in FY04. Domestic industry, Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Busi nesses, educational institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institutions are encouraged to participate. Respondents to future solicitations will be required to certify that they have appropriate facility and personnel clearances to meet the security requirements of work proposed.
