Description
Potential Sources Sought for Flexible Linear Shaped Charge, (FLSC), 600 Grain. NSN: 1375-01-079-3909 ?????? ML19. The Mines, Demolition, and Grenades office of the Joint Munitions Command (JMC) is conducting a market survey of industry to identify sources that are capable of manufacturing FLSC 600 Grain. The FLSC consists of a contin uous explosive core enclosed in a seamless lead sheath. The charge is shaped in the form of an inverted V, the continuous explosive produces a linear cutting action. The explosive core consists of 600 grains of CH-6 explosive per foot in four (4) foot len gths. This charge can be primed for either electrical or non-electrical firing or by non-electric detonator firing. The flexible linear shaped charge is designed to produce linear cutting action in various applications where remote, fast and reliable cutt ing of material is required. A respondent to this survey should be able to show that they have adequate technical and manufacturing capability and good past performance in the explosives processing industry, as an indicator of your qualifications as a manu facturer for this item. A respondent to this market survey must have available a majority of the skills and facilities that are required to manufacture this FLSC charge. Interested companies who feel they have the necessary manufacturing capabilities sho uld respond by providing the government the following information; a brief summary of the company capabilities, including a description of facilities, personnel, and past manufacturing experience as it relates to the above criteria and estimated minimum an d maximum monthly production quantities that can be produced and the Minimum Procurement Quality (MPQ) required for production. If a respondent does not have adequate resources (technical, manufacturing, personnel, etc.) the respondent must be able to demo nstrate his ability to obtain those resources in a timely fashion. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of sub-tier vendors or subcontractors, those vendors or subcontractors must also meet these criteria. Information shall be submitted within 30 calendar days from the date of this publication to: US Joint Munitions Command, ATTN: Mark Haldeman, AMSFS-CCA-M, Bldg 350 6th FL Rock Island 1, Rock Island, IL 61299-6000. This is a market survey for planning purposes only, and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the government. The government does not intend to award a contract on t he basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The government will utilize the information provided only to develop the acquisition strategy for future requirements. All information submitted will be held in a confidential sta tus.
