Description
NAICS Code: 541620 NAICS Code: 541620 The US Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Atmospheric Program's Clean Air Markets Division intends to award a sole source fixed-price purchase order using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures to The Fundacion Kukulcan of Guatamala under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. The purpose of the acquisition is to obtain contractor support to provide logistical and technical assistance in organizing a Central America Greenhouse Gas Inventory Kickoff Workshop in San Salvador, El Salvador in February 2004. Fundacion Kukulcan is uniquely qualified to provide EPA with workshop support because of its experience with environmental issues in Central America, such as a Plan for the Management of the Reserve of Multiple Uses of Lake Atitlan, preparation of a Strategy for the Management of Private Reserves, National Parks and Municipal Reserves in Guatemala, and Resolution of Transborder Environmental Conflicts in the Usumacinta Riven Basin. Fundacion Kukulcan also has extensive experience with organizing environmentally focused workshops. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. The estimated budget for this project is less than $20,000. Notwithstanding, any firm who believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which if received within seven days of the date of this announcement will be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing. A determination not to compete the proposed Purchase Order based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions should be directed to Rachel Schwartz via e-mail at schwartz.rachel@epa.gov. Response time 1:00 p.m. EST, January 13, 2004.
