Description: The synopsis for the solicitation for the complete construction of the upper loop bathhouse building at the Mortimer Campground on the Grandfather Ranger District, McDowell County, North Carolina is modified as follows: 1. The pre-bid conference scheduled for January 13, 2004 is cancelled. 2. The site visit originally scheduled for January 13, 2004 has been re-scheduled for January 21, 2004 at 1:00 pm at the Mortimer Campground. Directions to the site visit: Take I-40 to Exit 100 (Jamestown Road). At the top of the exit ramp turn right. Go to the third traffic light and turn left onto Hwy 181. Follow Hwy 181 North for approximately 12 miles. After passing Perry?s ?Space? Gas Station, turn right onto Brown Mountain Beach Road. Travel approximately seven miles to Wilson Creek Road. Turn left onto Wilson Creek Road ? State Hwy 1328. (There is a Mortimer Campground sign on the corner). Continue on this road for approximately 9 miles (At one mile, the pavement ends. At 5.5 miles, you?ll pass the Wilson Creek Visitor Center.) to a stop sign at the junction of Wilson Creek Road and Hwy 90(gravel). Turn left and Mortimer Work Center Building (large white building) is on the right. The access road to Mortimer Campground is directly past the Work Center on the right. 3. The Government's estimate is amended to read between $100,000 and $250,000. 4. The solicitation will be posted by Close of Business on January 7, 2004 and the bids will be due by 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, on February 6, 2004. Bidders are required to submit bids and experience questionnaires for this project. The NAICS code for this project is 236210. This procurement is full and open competition with no set-asides per the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. 5. Request for drawings should be sent in writing to Don Bailey at the USDA Forest Service, P O Box 2750, Asheville, NC 28802. Please state that the request is for solicitation # EAZ-33-04-0016. Please include a check or money order for $25.00 payable to USDA Forest Service. The $25.00 is non-refundable.
